As the first residential smart water meter, flowIQ® 2200 comes with built-in Acoustic Leak Detection. This enables the meter to detect possible leakages – not only after the meter inside the house but also before the meter in the adjacent service connections and distribution mains. flowIQ® 2200 is a part of our solution for acoustic leak detection that also includes Leak Detector – a new program application for our analytics platform as well as a range of service and training offerings that lets you scale and customise as fits your needs.

Acoustic Leak Detection in flowIQ® 2200
Water flowing through a leaking pipe produces a different sound pattern than water flowing through an intact pipe. Even changes to the size of a leak or burst will cause the sound to change. With its ultrasonic sensors, the flowIQ® 2200 registers these sound patterns and sends back only the lowest value recorded over a 24 hour period. This is done to filter out background noises such as the traffic above ground or the normal daily water consumption within the house. If the lowest registered noise value exceeds a certain level, there is a high risk of a leakage or burst in that given installation.

Visualisation of noise data
The analytics program Leak Detector visualises the noise data from your flowIQ® 2200 water meters and enables you to locate leaks in service connections and distribution mains. The system’s map-based overview shows your meters with intuitive colour coding representing the noise level registered by each meter and it uses graphs to visualise how it evolves over time. All of this enables you to easily identify high-risk installations where elevated noise levels indicate possible leaks or bursts.

The residential water meter flowIQ® 2200 comes with integrated communication that allows for safe and easy remote reading via either drive-by or network. The flexible connectivity options include Wireless M-Bus, Kamstrup linkIQ® and NB-IoT. We also offer and a range of accessories for combining network and drive-by reading, depending on your data needs. You can also expand the range of connectivity options by adding a flowIQ® Gateway for transfer of data to your control systems.

This means that you can say goodbye to manual meter readings and estimated calculations. You can significantly decrease your data collection time and avoid time-consuming follow-ups on missing or imprecise readings, which can disturb your end-users. Instead, you can spend your resources on more value-creating customer services.

flowIQ® 2200 offers a variety of data packages to transmit to your utility. Choose the right data package to suit your needs when ordering the meter and reconfigure it at a later point in time if needs change. The options include parameters such as volume, reverse volume, temperature, and flow rate.

There is also a historical data log on the meter with daily, hourly, and monthly values.

The smaller water meters are fully made from eco-friendly and durable composite, while the larger meters are made from a combination of composite and stainless steel. The meter housings are vacuum sealed and fully watertight.

The residential composite water meters are packed in airtight blister packaging, rather than cardboard, to ensure that they are not exposed to environmental influences, during transport or storage, that could later pose a risk of contamination to the water pipes and supply.

Multiple intelligent alarms and info codes let you quickly and effectively detect irregularities such as leaks and bursts or other events like tampering attempts, reverse flow, and more. flowIQ® 2200 monitors your network continuously and alerts you when something changes in time to act.

flowIQ® 2200 is powered from a lithium battery. Depending on use and setup, the lifetime is up to 20 years.

flowIQ® 2200 is a residential water meter based on the latest ultrasonic technology. Thanks to an industry-leading accuracy and optimised low start flow down to 0.9 l/hour, flowIQ® 2200 measures even the smallest consumption. The meter is highly stable throughout the entire dynamic range with a very low error margin. And, as a static meter with no moving parts to wear out, it maintains a high and stable accuracy throughout the lifetime of up to 20 years.
