The residential water meter flowIQ® 1200 comes with integrated communication that allows for safe and easy remote reading via either drive-by or fixed network.  

The flexible connectivity options include Wireless M-Bus, Kamstrup linkIQ® and LoRaWAN. We also offer a range of accessories for network and drive-by reading, depending on your data needs. This means that you can say goodbye to manual meter readings and estimated calculations. You can significantly decrease your data collection time and avoid time-consuming follow-ups on missing or imprecise readings, which can disturb your end users. Instead, you can spend your resources on value-creating customer services.

flowIQ® 1200 offers a variety of data transmission packages. Choose the right data package to suit your needs when you order the meter – and reconfigure it later if your needs change. The options include parameters such as volume, temperature, and flow rate.

The meter records data points such as ambient temperature, water temperature, minimum flow, etc. These are stored in a daily, monthly, and yearly logger and are available by means of the optical infrared interface. This allows data retrieval for purposes such as temperature analysis or volume retrieval in house owner change scenarios. Construction & packaging

The flowIQ® 1200 is engineered with compact, low‑profile housing, enabling installation in confined spaces where the physical dimensions of mechanical meters can be a limiting factor. The meter incorporates fully integrated communication electronics, eliminating reliance on external click‑on modules and thereby reducing the risk of mechanical or electrical failures associated with additional attachment interfaces.

The meters are fully made from eco-friendly, lightweight, and durable PPS with 40% glass fibre composite.  Composite materials are inherently lighter than meta-based materials and are not subject to corrosion. As such, producing a lower carbon footprint and eliminating corrosion risk compared to metal-based materials.  

The meter housings are vacuum sealed and fully watertight.

Kamstrup water meters are constructed with a separation between electronics and the water stream. This is achieved by means of a highly engineered one-mold composite design, allowing the ultrasonic signal to pass through the composite material and as such removing the need for o-ring designs. Ultimately, this decreases the risk of water or humidity ingression into the electronics.  

Ultrasonic water meters inherently do not use moving parts. This means that the meter has a very low pressure drop and as such requires lower energy consumption compared to mechanical meters such as volumetric water meters.

Multiple intelligent alarms and info codes let you quickly and effectively detect irregularities, such as leaks and bursts or other events like tampering attempts, reverse flow, and more.

flowIQ® 1200 is powered by a lithium battery. Depending on use and setup, the lifetime is up to 16 years.

flowIQ® 1200 is a residential water meter based on the latest ultrasonic technology. Thanks to industry-leading accuracy and optimised low start flow down to 0.9 l/hour, flowIQ® 1200 measures even the smallest consumption. This is essential for detecting early leakages by means of enabling measuring of constant low night flow, thus helping utilities identify early‑stage leaks and reduce non‑revenue water before it escalates. The meter’s accuracy is highly stable throughout the entire dynamic range with a very low error margin. Mechanical water meters will inherently lose accuracy during their operation time. This will result in either over-measurement or under-measurement, depending on the specific measurement method. In scenarios with under measurement, water that has been treated and distributed is not accounted for, ultimately leading to loss of revenue capture.
