Large, static flow sensor to support your industrial processes
ULTRAFLOW® 85 is a static flow sensor using ultrasonic technology to measure the volume and the rate of fluid in heat and cooling installations. This flow sensor continues to provide highly accurate measurements with our long-esteemed operational reliability and quality. Our engineers optimized the measurement performance and the mechanical design further with the aim of preparing our large sensors to be used in industrial and thermal energy production processes.
Bi-directional flow measured every half seconds
ULTRAFLOW® 85 was designed to fit large pipes in between the DN 150 and DN 300 range. We have developed two main features to help industrial and heat production-side workflows further. Together with our MULTICAL® 603 and 803 calculators, ULTRAFLOW® 85 supports legal measurement of bi-directional flow. This means that using only one flow sensor can measure both the forward and the reverse flow. This typically happens when a large thermal energy consumer has periods of time supplying surplus heat back to the distribution network.
A new communication solution in between the flow sensor and the calculator shortened volume sampling intervals. ULTRAFLOW® 85 can transfer measurement data every 0.5 seconds making this fast response flow sensor particularly suitable for control of industrial processes.
30 minutes shorter commissioning
The updated design focuses on easier commissioning and security. All the flanges, hooks and wires were given a new thought: lifting hooks make it easier to move the big sensor around, flat flanges prohibit the sensor to roll while shipping or storing, and all circuits for calculating and measuring are collected on a single board, directly underneath the new built-in display. This display indicates the actual flow and different status messages helping the technician with commissioning.
