Kamstrup acquires Danish software company

7 January 2020

The technology company Kamstrup acquires a smaller Danish software company Blue Control. The acquisition of the company is part of a strong growth strategy based on digital solutions for the water supply business.

As of 6 January 2020, Kamstrup has acquired Blue Control, which delivers a controlling and software platform for small and medium-sized water supplies.

‘’The Acquisition of and investment in Blue Control is part of our long-term strategy to increase our growth within digital solutions for the water industry. At the same time it is about supporting a company in developing their product and business,’’ says Kim Lehmann, CEO in Kamstrup.

Blue Control offers water utilities an easy way to get an overview of their production and distribution with one solution for controlling extracting, filtering, pumping and reporting.

‘’Blue Control has a really exciting product that digitally helps utilities automate and optimise their operations. Their product solves some other challenges in the supply than our intelligent metering solutions and services, but we see many similarities to what we believe can make a difference within the utility business. There are some good development opportunities for the solution they offer,’’ continues Kim Lehmann.

Blue Control will continue with their own solutions and the company will continue as an independent company in the Kamstrup Group.

Gert Vesterlund, who is director in Blue Control, is excited about the new cooperation:

‘’It is definitely an acknowledgement that a company like Kamstrup has an interest in Blue Control. There is good synergy between what we do at Blue Control and what Kamstrup offers the water utilities. Therefore, we are very satisfied with the new ownership and are pleased to have a strong company in the back that wants to further develop the company’’.

Blue Control, based in Birkerød, Denmark, has existed in approx. 6 years and has 9 employees.
