April 8, 2022

The technology company Kamstrup acquires the ownership of the Danish company Thvilum A/S. The acquisition supports Kamstrup’s vision of contributing to an efficient operation of supplies through digitalization.

As from April 8th, Kamstrup has entered into the agreement of acquiring Thvilum A/S which is an experienced supplier within digital pipe registration for utilities in Denmark.

“We have a clear ambition of contributing positively to the digitalisation of the Danish utility industry and acquiring Thvilum A/S will strengthen our competencies within the basic elements of a digitalized utility. We see a great synergy between our products and solutions and working closely together we can offer the industry much more value and create opportunities for optimization”, says Kim Lehmann, CEO at Kamstrup.

Thvilum A/S has built a unique domain knowledge and experience within GIS systems and customer applications, and their expertise has made them a major player within water and heat supply.

”To many of our customers the identification and mapping of the distribution system is an important step towards the digitalisation journey. A precise outlook of the distribution network together with data from intelligent metering solutions will be the foundation of a huge potential for making even better analyses which enable optimisation of the operation and a reduction of waste”, says Kim Lehmann and continues:

”There is an obvious potential to set an even greater sustainable footprint in employing water and energy resources and many of our customers have this on their agenda”.

The acquisition of Thvilum A/S will give Kamstrup even better opportunities to service Danish utilities. It will also create a solid foundation for offering services and solutions that will help the utilities become even better at making decisions on a data and knowledge based foundation. A key factor for utilising digital opportunities.

Jesper Thvilum, CEO of Thvilum A/S elaborates on the sale of the family-owned company:

“We have come far developing our product portfolio, and we are very pleased that a strong company such as Kamstrup will now become a part of expanding the potential that we see for our digital tools. We look forward to the collaboration and we believe that it will be for the benefit of our employees as well as for our customers”.

Thvilum A/S was founded in 1988 and has 23 employees at the office in Odder south of Aarhus.
