Why quality matters
By understanding the full impact of quality and choosing meters with best-in-class product quality, this will set your water utility up for success when it comes to:
- Installation process with first time success
- Lower failure rate on meters across their entire lifetime
- Increased accuracy on meter readings across meter lifespan
- Minimized non-revenue water through advanced leak detection
- Data quality that enables better, safer and faster decisions
- High performance in even the harshest environments
- Best-in-class customer service benefitting your end-users
That is why we never compromise on our product quality. We leave nothing up for uncertainty. Uncertainty is the number one enemy in metering. We hate not knowing every little detail. Because knowing is the epitome of control. Every single meter delivered by Kamstrup has been through the same individual quality assurance process with the one ambition of delivering the highest possible performance throughout the full lifetime of the meter.
Because we know that meter quality impacts the way you work – from the very day you decide on a new meter supplier and for a lifetime to come. Quality is not an inherent feature. It’s engineered. That’s how we think. That’s how we are.

We know that some of your meters will be exposed to difficult environments and humid conditions during their lifetime. Some of your meters might even be submerged or flooded. That is why we go far beyond IP68 in our promise. Our meters can be submerged in water – not for one day or two, but for their entire lifetime.
This is possible because we have ensured that our sealing technology is out of this world and optimised the robustness of our meters. We assemble the glass to the housing under decompression. And our meter housing is a patented, monolithic composite housing that is engineered and fine-tuned over a decade for maximum resistance towards moisture and humidity, as well as changing conditions and temperatures. That is what we mean by quality.

Quality in every component
Accuracy
We strive for perfection. We drive quality towards zero deviation, zero intolerance. We know that zero can never be reached, but we are still eager to get there – even after we have put 10 million ultrasonic water meters in the market.
We test the accuracy of every single meter before we allow it to leave production. And we are not just testing it – we do it on substantially stricter tolerances than required by regulations. Just because we care a little extra. That is what we mean by quality.
Battery
You see, it is all about how the energy is taken out of the batteries and how much stress the software applies to the batteries. That is why our in-house physicist over the last 10 years has worked on optimising the process of deriving energy from batteries to deliver a steady energy supply throughout the lifetime of the meter. Optimised and refined through endless testing to ensure the longest possible lifetime of the meter. That is what we mean by quality.
Moisture
This is possible because we have ensured that our sealing technology is out of this world and optimised the robustness of our meters. We assemble the glass to the housing under decompression. And our meter housing is a patented, monolithic composite housing that is engineered and fine-tuned over a decade for maximum resistance towards moisture and humidity, as well as changing conditions and temperatures. Quality control/Manufacturing
Our manufacturing processes take place under our own roof, because we hate not knowing every little detail. Our staff works relentlessly every day to drive quality towards zero errors. Zero deviation. Zero intolerance.
Every meter delivered by Kamstrup has passed all quality test stages with zero failures. We spent approx. 50% of the entire manufacturing time of every single meter on quality testing and assurance to be 100% certain that it works. That is what we mean by quality.
The perfect solution starts with the perfect meter
For us, quality isn’t just a feature – it’s a philosophy. From pioneering ultrasonic technology to building meters that withstand the harshest conditions, we have redefined what it means to deliver excellence. Our commitment goes beyond products: it’s about creating solutions that empower utilities, reduce water loss, and drive sustainability. When you choose our meters, you’re choosing the best for your water utility and the communities you serve
