With Kamstrup Valve, you can control the water supply to each of your consumers directly in a smart way. The application areas for the valve are plenty. For example, the valve can be used for poor payers, installations where water needs to be closed for a certain period of time, or in situations where the water availability needs to be controlled for other reasons.
Manage water availability remotely
You can open or close the valve remotely via READy app. This enables you to manage the water availability from outside the house without direct access to the installation and without involving the consumer or relying on them being at home.
Safely reactivate the water supply
When the valve has been closed for a period of time, it has to be actively reopened. The first step in reopening the valve takes place remotely via READy App. In the second step the valve’s press button needs to be pressed three times. This reduces risks of any unintended water consumption or flooding since water only becomes available at the moment when the consumer is physically present and reactivates the valve.
With Kamstrup Valve, two options of throttling are available. These provide the utility with the possibility of either shutting down the water availability partly or entirely. Based on legislation or case-specific circumstances, water may have to be partly available at the consumer’s house. You can therefore keep the valve partly open, allowing constant low flow to pass through. Alternatively, the utility can allow water to only be available at a defined time interval during the day – for example, 10 minutes each day. To ensure that the consumer is actually at home during the time interval where water is available, she/he must press the valve’s press button three times to allow water to pass through.
Managing water availability is not only an effective means for the utility to protect its revenue, but also enables the utility to enhance the service it provides to the end-user.
Revenue protection for the utility
Managing water availability at end-user households is a means for the utility to reduce both monetary losses due to poor payers as well as the time spent handling late or missing payments.
Improved customer service
The utility is able to turn off water if the customer’s water meter reports a leak or burst – without depending on the end-user being at home. This enables the utility to put a limit to the customer’s water bill as well as to reduce the risk of major building damages.
Smart water metering is an intelligent enabler for improving consumer relations and optimizing operations. It is about quality management, revenue protection, asset management and Non-Revenue Water. About being able to make the right choices and chose the right investments.
