The conference started with an inspiring speech from the keynote speaker, Rakesh Sahay, eQube consultants who said, “We need to build the infrastructure that will last for years to come. As consultants, it is not just the meter or the data; it is the responsibility we have towards the infrastructure that matters the most”. The most exciting part of the conference that kept everyone glued to their seats was the panel discussion on “Role of smart metering in achieving energy efficiency”. The speakers on the dais were from diverse backgrounds. They shared their experiences and presented unique viewpoints in terms of challenges and contribution of BTU meters. The discussion took an interesting turn when panelists indicated their expectations towards product development and digitalization within the industry. One message, however, was unanimous; in order to manage and control energy, it is crucial to measure it. Thereby, special emphasis was placed on the accurate and reliable measuring technology that Kamstrup offers to the industry. The event provided a platform for various stakeholders to come together to discuss the factors influencing the future of the Cooling industry in India and how smart metering is a critical component in sustainable development.
