Kamstrup OMNIA® e-meter CT
- Integrated dual LTE communication
- Freedom to configure two load profiles¨
- High data security based on individual encryption keys and access management
- Protection against magnetic tampering now includes the measuring accuracy
Integrated cellular IoT
The OMNIA® e-meter contains a dual technology modem capable of using both NB-IoT and LTE-M. Unlike previous LTE technologies, LTE-M and NB-IoT are tailored to suit the needs of smart metering. This means that you get high bandwidth and a much better coverage than with other LTE technologies such as 4G.
And, as the infrastructure is already in place, cellular communication eases the transfer to next generation metering and saves you the trouble of having to deal with maintaining a communication infrastructure.
Combine NB-IoT and LTE-M to achieve:
- High data rates and low latencies for most of the meters using LTE-M
- High coverage for hard-to-reach locations using NB-IoT
Power outage prevention
Power outages and other grid incidents can be prevented by looking for early warnings such as frequency variations, voltage variations, and harmonic content. But locating the root cause of a voltage quality incident can be difficult and time-consuming.
The OMNIA® e-meter builds on a ground-breaking EPU architecture that analyses each single period of voltage and current and frequency and harmonic content with unprecedented precision. This helps utilities locate the root cause of voltage quality problems quickly without unnecessary field visits.
Quality and safety
The OMNIA® e-meter is designed for manufacture and our fully automated production is your guarantee for consistently superior quality and a product lifetime of up to 18 years. Safety is secured by following the highest standards.
Safety approval according to the latest standards:
- Acc. IEC/EN 62052-31
Supply control switch:
- Class UC3, bi-stable operation
Ingress protection rating:
- IP54
Improved tamperproof design
The OMNIA® e-meter is designed to ensure accurate metering. To do so, it’s essential to prevent tampering. With the CT version of the OMNIA® e-meter, we have improved the protection against tampering. The meter is protected against tampering using:
- Protection against magnetic tampering now includes the measuring accuracy, thanks to precise shunt technology
- Comprehensive event loggers with anti fraud and security features that enable the utility to immediately discover tampering and attempts to physically access the meter
Flexible, easy customisation
The OMNIA® e-meter offers the possibility of customising the meter configuration to match your specific needs. And, since its powerful core allows for full benefit of future over-the-air firmware upgrades, the meter is an asset that becomes even more valuable over time.
Integrated flexibility options include:
- Demand response using integrated load control
- Adding smart home equipment for consumer engagement
- Freedom to configure two load profiles
- Up to 36 data channels per profile, intervals as low as 1 minute
Asset management and grid planning
The above-industry-standard range of measurements and their pinpoint accuracy means that the OMNIA® e-meter provides a solid foundation for advanced analysis and grid optimisation in the analytics application of your choice.
The use of cellular IoT technologies enables the transfer of larger amounts of data to support enhanced customer service, targeted grid maintenance, and fact-based grid planning.
Unrivalled accuracy
The pinpoint accuracy of the OMNIA® e-meter ensures consistently reliable consumption billing that builds consumer trust. Magnetic immunity ensures that all consumption is measured correctly.
The OMNIA® e-meter is designed for compliance with the newest standards, in addition to the MID:
- IEC 62052-11:2020 (general requirements)
- EN 50470-3:2006/A1:2018 (active energy class B)
- IEC 62053-21:2020 (active energy class 1)
- IEC 62053-24:2020 (fundamental reactive energy class 1)
