Vaanster and Kamstrup

– Frame agreement is basis for partnership between independent operator of sustainable energy systems and smart metering supplier

“We have known each other for some years now and this was a logical next step.”

Ronnie Startman, Sales Manager for Kamstrup in the Netherlands is very happy with the partnership that Vaanster and Kamstrup are now entering. Vaanster is a leading, independent investor of sustainable energy systems with base in Bilthoven. They develop, fund and exploit sustainable energy supplies for real estate projects across the Netherlands. Both companies are expecting to benefit greatly from the agreement.

One advantage is a closer relationship. In the upcoming years, Vaanster will develop energy systems for more than 10,000 new homes that they provide with sustainable heat and cooling. This is possible because they reinvestments in new projects, making the company independent and enabling them to grow continuously. Vaanster’s projects vary from 60 to over 1,000 connections, a segment where Kamstrup’s automatic data collection solution, READy, also works really well.

Vaanster invests in systems for area development and focus on developing smart energy systems for groups of buildings. Over three years, Kamstrup will deliver MULTICAL® 403 heat meters and AMR systems to an important part of the new homes Vaanster supply. “The collaboration means more and more reliable insights in the energy performance of the heat production installations. Kamstrup is a partner we can trust and grow with in the years to come” says Anton Westerhof, Project Manager with Vaanster.

Kamstrup provide a full product portfolio for new building projects where companies deliver sustainable energy with efficient management. In addition to apartment meters, household meters, commercial meters and the infrastructure to bring home their readings, Kamstrup also deliver larger meters for the installation and production part of buildings. “We use the larger energy meters to optimize power stations and to solve any issues on time. And consumption data is processed unambiguously and GDPR-proof” says Anton Westerhof.

Another advantage of the collaboration is that project managers from both companies are able to connect early in the planning phase of projects, which will help a lot for a successful project roll-out. And that’s important for a solution that’s going to last for years. Vaanster invest in projects with positive impact on making the Netherlands more sustainable and actively contribute towards reducing Co2 emissions. The new partnership between the two companies contribute to this goal, improving services towards their customers and enabling them to provide more insight in energy consumption to residents. With this information, they help residents with a way to sustainable use of energy.
