When we gathered the Cooling industry in India to discuss energy efficiency and sustainability

Over the past 10 years, we have made some great progress in developing the Cooling market in India and we continue to hold the largest market share in BTU metering year on year. On the evening of November 30, 2018, Kamstrup successfully launched the first edition of the Annual Cooling Conference in Bengaluru, in association with our official partner Virgo Technologies and supported by ISHRAE. The event witnessed an amalgamation of consultants, contractors, builders and developers, facility managers, BMS and MEP experts from the HVAC industry, marking the attendance of over 180 professionals. The conference focused on building a dialogue around achieving energy efficiency and sustainability in light of smart metering in the air conditioning sector.

“Role of smart metering in achieving energy efficiency” was the topic of the panel discussion

The conference started with an inspiring speech from the keynote speaker, Rakesh Sahay, eQube consultants who said, “We need to build the infrastructure that will last for years to come. As consultants, it is not just the meter or the data; it is the responsibility we have towards the infrastructure that matters the most”. We launched our newest, more efficient and user-friendly BTU meter, MULTICAL 603 and the audience could not seem more excited to witness it. “Kamstrup has always been at the epitome of research and development and we will continue to bring value through our cutting-edge technology in measuring and monitoring of energy and water consumption”, says Suneel Bhambere, Director, Kamstrup India operations.

The most exciting part of the conference that kept everyone glued to their seats was the panel discussion on “Role of smart metering in achieving energy efficiency”. The speakers on the dais were from diverse backgrounds. They shared their experiences and presented unique viewpoints in terms of challenges and contribution of BTU meters. The discussion took an interesting turn when panelists indicated their expectations towards product development and digitalization within the industry. One message, however, was unanimous; in order to manage and control energy, it is crucial to measure it. Thereby, special emphasis was placed on the accurate and reliable measuring technology that Kamstrup offers to the industry. The event provided a platform for various stakeholders to come together to discuss the factors influencing the future of the Cooling industry in India and how smart metering is a critical component in sustainable development.
