Project manager's logbook - stage 1
The project is divided into 3 stages: 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Production, installation and operation phases are repeated for
each stage.

2005-04-25
Kamstrup A/S signs contract with Höganäs Energi AB to deliver automatic meter reading on all electricity meters in Höganäs.
2005-04-29
The responsible sales persons calls for internal Kick-off Meeting at Kamstrup. The internal Kick-off Meeting is attended by representatives from all relevant departments at Kamstrup. This group includes representatives from Logistics, Project Management, Documentation, Engineering and Operations/Support.
The meeting is held in order to secure the correct hand-over from Sales to Project Management. A project manager is assigned to a project group, consisting of employees from all relevant departments within Kamstrup.
Project Planning
2005-04-29
The project is prepared and project plans are completed. Contracts with subcontractors are signed. ELTEL Networks Infranet AB is the chosen subcontractor for Installations.
2005-05-17
The project manager calls Höganäs Energi AB for External Kick-off Meeting.
At this meeting the Project Manager presents the finalized project plans and necessary Information is exchanged. Examples of which being:
- Which type of meters are to be delivered, which display configurations and functionalities are required.
- Which meters numbers are to be used.
- Meter database with coordinates on each meter installation for analysis and planning in GIS (Geographical Information System).
- Interface specifications, i.e. file formats for data transfer between Höganäs Energi’s administrative applications and Kamstrup’s operating system.
- Various practical details regarding storage of old and new meters, sealing of new meters etc.
2005-06-01
Components are put in order. This includes meters, antennas, multi- points, servers, and software.

Component delivery

Kamstrup DES (Device Exchange System) is put in operation.
2005-08-15
Electricians are trained. First meters are installed and inspected by Kamstrup.
Installation
2005-08-16
Continuous inspections of the installation process are carried out by Engineering department using Kamstrup GIS.
2005-08-30
The project manager calls for Project Meeting at Höganäs Energi. The meeting is attended by all relevant departments, both from Höganäs Energi and Kamstrup.
2005-09-06
The first 400 electricity meters in Östra Lerberget have been exchanged according to the agreed time schedule.
All changed meters are communicating point to multi-point in the area and proofread by Kamstrup. Once every week Kamstrup generates a report from the DES system and sends it to Höganäs Energi. This report describes all meter changes so far.
2005-09-30
All electricity meters, about 750 in Östra Lerberget are now replaced and the data from the meters read. According to the project model Kamstrup is now completing the test procedures for SAT (Site Acceptance Test). With a SAT it is checked up that the delivered system fullfills the specification from Höganäs Energi. After each of the 3 phases a SAT is carried out.
Commisioning
2005-10-26
Kamstrup is now making the final adjustments and tests of the system. The SAT test is scheduled and the team who is to carry out the test is making the last preparations. The different usergroups from Höganäs Energi are trained by Kamstrup in the daily operation and maintenance of the system.
2005-11-07
Today the scheduled SAT test was performed at Höganäs Energi. Kamstrup went through all test procedures and demonstrated that the delivered system complied with the requirements. The test was performed as a dialogue, in which points of view i.e.regarding user interfaces in the software programme were exchanged. Kamstrup and Höganäs agreed on a few adaptations in the software programmes based on this dialogue. Höganäs Energi approved the site acceptance test on all points and the system is now handed over and in operation.
The project now enters the second phase and Kamstrup starts up deliveries and scheduling of training for installers.
