As system solution projects become a more and more dominant part of our business and the market demands turn key solutions from their suppliers, it is important to deliver projects on time.
And as customers require more complex solutions delivered in a shorter time, it becomes vital for us to have a common and precise model for implementing and supplying projects to the market.
Therefore, Kamstrup use a phase model as a management tool to ensure structured implementation of system projects throughout the entire project life cycle.
The Phase Model is not a checklist, nor is it a time schedule for implementing projects, but it provides a set of general guidelines to manage and control the project focusing on achieving step by step results and goals, ensuring that things are done in the correct order.
In addition, splitting the project into subprojects with individual goals and results to be achieved reduces project risks to the benefit of both the customers and Kamstrup.
How to use the Phase Model
In general the model can be used for all customer projects at Kamstrup independent of size, products, customer and country.
The model is to be seen as a generic model, some activities being irrelevant for small projects. This has to be judged by the project manager when starting the project.
A number of templates and checklists are easily available in the Kamstrup CRM system – templates are guidelines to be used and modelled to the individual need, Checklists – on the contrary – are fixed lists ready for use.
